Privacy Policy

We only collect information about you if we have a reason to do so, like providing our Services, communicating with you, or making our Services better. We do not sell our users’ private personal information.

Information we collect

We collect information in three ways: when you provide it to us, automatically through operating our Services, and from outside sources.

Information you provide to us

Basic account information: to set up a Journity account we require an organization name, email address and password.
Transaction and billing information: if you buy a subscription or service, you provide the personal and payment information needed to process it, such as your name, credit card information, and contact information.
Communications with us: you may provide information when you respond to surveys or contact us about a support question.
Data retention: your information is retained as long as you are a customer of Journity. After your account is canceled, your information may be retained indefinitely unless you request removal, upon which we will remove it.

Information we collect automatically

Log information: browser type, IP address, unique device identifiers, language preference, referring site, date and time of access, operating system, and mobile network information.
Location information: we may determine the approximate location of your device from your IP address, for example to display a message about upcoming events in your area.
Cookies and other technologies: Journity uses cookies and pixel tags (web beacons) as part of the service.

Information from other sources

We may get information, such as an email address or phone number, from third-party services about individuals who are not yet our users, which we may use for marketing and advertising purposes like emailing and phone calling.

How and why we use information

To provide our Services, such as setting up and maintaining your Journity account and campaigns.
To develop and improve our Services, and to understand how users interact with them.
To measure and improve the effectiveness of our advertising, and understand user retention and attrition.
To monitor and prevent problems, protect the security of our Services, detect and prevent fraud and other illegal activity, fight spam, and protect the rights and property of Journity and others.
To communicate with you about offers, promotions, and updates, and to ask for your feedback.
To personalize your experience, provide content recommendations, target our marketing messages, and serve relevant advertisements.

Legal bases (European Union)

Our use of your information is based on the grounds that it is necessary to fulfill our commitments to customers and end users or administer your account; necessary to comply with a legal obligation; necessary to protect vital interests; based on our legitimate interests in providing, improving, and safeguarding our Services; or based on your consent.

Sharing information

We do not sell our users’ private personal information. We share information about our customers, and the visitors to our customers’ websites, only in limited circumstances and with appropriate safeguards:

with subsidiaries, employees, and independent contractors who need it to provide our Services and who follow this policy;
with third-party vendors, such as payment processors and fraud prevention services, who need it to provide their services;
in response to a subpoena, court order, or other governmental request;
when we believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of Journity, third parties, or the public;
in connection with a merger, sale of company assets, or acquisition, or if Five Q Innovations, LLC goes out of business or enters bankruptcy;
with your consent or at your direction;
as aggregated or de-identified information that could not reasonably be used to identify you; and
by publishing a support request you send us, to help clarify or respond to it or to support other users.

Security

While no online service is 100% secure, we work very hard to protect information about you against unauthorized access, use, alteration, or destruction, and take reasonable measures to do so, such as monitoring our Services for potential vulnerabilities and attacks.

Choices

Limit the information you provide. Some features may not be available without it.
Opt out of promotional messages by following the instructions in them. We may still send account and legal messages.
Set your browser to “Do Not Track.” Five Q honors Do Not Track signals across our services.
Set your browser to reject cookies. Some features of Journity’s websites may not work without them.
Close your account. We may keep some information afterward for legal obligations or legitimate business interests.

Your rights

If you are located in certain countries, including those covered by the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you may have the right to request a copy of your personal data; request its correction or deletion; object to or limit our use and processing of it; and request its portability. EU individuals also have the right to complain to a government supervisory authority.

Controllers

Journity’s Services are targeted to the United States, though international customers may choose to use Journity. Five Q Innovations, LLC, the creator of Journity, is the controller for some of the processing activities across all of our Services worldwide.

Other things you should know

We also process information about visitors to our users’ websites, on behalf of our users and in accordance with this policy. We encourage our customers to post a privacy policy that accurately describes their practices.

Journity may change this policy from time to time. If we do, we will note it in the change log below and, in some cases, provide additional notice.
